Over the course of one transformative week, you’ll move your body through soulful vinyasa flows, expand your mind through guided workshops and journaling, and reconnect with your spirit through group discussion, nature, and celebration.

Led by Christina Hyrkas, this experience is a full-body yes to wellness, adventure, and joy. Expect meaningful connection with like-minded people, sun-soaked days by the sea, Greek-inspired rituals, and dance that frees you from the mundane.

The Island: Chania, Crete

Crete is Greece’s largest island—and fittingly, the legendary birthplace of Zeus. Here, ancient civilizations whisper through ruins, wild mountains meet crystal-clear seas, and every moment invites awe.

Our retreat takes place in Chania, on the island’s enchanting western coast. Known for its charming old town, Venetian harbor, and warm hospitality, Chania offers the perfect blend of beauty, history, and soulful connection. It’s a place to wander, to wonder, and to rediscover your joy for life.

Workshops

The Art of Movement & Community

Dance is one of the oldest forms of healing — a way to release, express, and connect without words. In this joyful and grounding workshop, we’ll use movement to shake off stagnant energy, reconnect with the body, and tap into the power of rhythm and group connection. Through traditional Greek dance, we’ll create a space that’s playful, expressive, and deeply bonding. This session is designed to help you break the ice, step out of your shell, and form authentic connections with your retreat community. By the end, you’ll feel more open, energized, and ready for the week ahead — and maybe even a little lighter in spirit.

Pranayama / Breathwork: The Power of the Breath

The breath is the bridge between the body and mind — and one of the most powerful tools we have for regulating our energy and emotions. In this workshop, we’ll explore foundational breathwork techniques that support both calm and clarity.

You’ll learn how to activate the breath to slow down the nervous system in moments of stress, and how to energize the body when focus or warmth is needed. Whether you're seeking balance, resilience, or presence, breathwork offers accessible, lifelong tools to return to yourself — anytime, anywhere.

Meditation:
A practice that can stand on its own. This workshop will ease into the benefits of meditation, where to start, and how to continue the practice into your life on and off your mat.

Community Building:
This workshop is about trust, verbal communication, relationship building, balance, boundaries, and the art of giving and receiving. We will explore partner poses and expand our practice to others.

Gratitude Practice & Journaling:
Everyday we will have designating times and prompts for journaling and gratitude practice.

Your retreat experience has been thoughtfully curated to nourish every part of you—body, mind, and spirit. Each element is designed to support deep rest, joyful movement, cultural immersion, and soulful connection.

  • 6 nights in a private Cretan villa
    Elegant accommodations with sweeping views, comfortable shared or private rooms, curated welcome gifts, and beautifully designed communal spaces that invite rest and new relationships.

  • In-house private chef preparing 2 gourmet meals daily
    Enjoy nourishing, locally-sourced dishes rooted in classic Greek cuisine. Meals are served family-style with snacks, herbal teas, and refreshments available throughout the day. Dietary accommodations available.

    Morning vinyasa flows and grounding evening slow flows led by Christina. Practices are tailored to all levels and designed to energize, unwind, and support your journey inward.

Retreat Policies & Terms

We want your retreat experience to be smooth, secure, and clearly communicated. Please review the following policies before booking:

Deposit & Reservation
To secure your spot, a non-refundable $700 deposit is required at the time of booking. Your reservation is not guaranteed until this deposit has been received.

Cancellation Policy
Life happens—and we understand. If you need to cancel, please notify us in writing at christinahyrkas@gmail.com from the original email used at booking.
Cancellations made before June 23rd, 2025 (90 days prior to the retreat start date) will receive a full refund minus the $700 deposit.
Cancellations made on or after August 12th, 2025 are non-refundable and will result in the forfeiture of 100% of payments made.
Please note: No refunds will be issued for travel costs, flight delays, or cancellations. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment.

Flight Policy
We are not responsible for changes, delays, or cancellations to your flights. We strongly encourage securing travel insurance to cover any unforeseen disruptions.

Final Payment
All balances must be paid in full by July 23rd, 2025. Failure to complete payment by this date may result in loss of your reserved spot and deposit.

Minimum Capacity Clause
This retreat requires a minimum of 9 participants to run, with a maximum capacity of 12 for an intimate and high-touch experience. In the unlikely event the retreat does not meet the minimum, all payments (including deposits) will be fully refunded, and you will be notified no later than August 30th, 2025.

This retreat includes daily yoga, walks into town, optional beach hikes, swimming in the sea, and time spent outdoors under the sun. Participants should be in good health, comfortable with extended periods of walking (including on uneven terrain), and able to carry items for extended periods of time. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, this retreat is best suited for individuals who maintain an active lifestyle and are physically prepared for a week of movement, exploration, and adventure.

FAQs

  • Vinyasa Flow yoga will be taught which provides a variety of poses and sequences each class. All poses and practices can be modified for beginner to advance students.

  • Yes. All yoga practices can be modified for students of all levels.

  • The schedule is designed to provide attendees structure around our wellness goals along with flexibility for exploration and rest. The standard day will have follow the following format:
    8:00 - Vinyasa Practice
    10:00 - Breakfast
    6:30 - Workshop
    7:30 - 30 Min Slow Vinyasa Flow
    9:00 - Family Dinner

    Sunday and Saturday differ due to arrival and departure plans.

  • Our chef will be providing fresh traditional Greek and Cretan meals specific to the region. We can adapt to dietary restrictions as long as they are communicated ahead of 9/17/2023.

  • We recommend flying to Chania International Airport (CHQ) directly or via Athens. The villa transfer picks up from CHQ and the drive back is 25 minutes.



  • Both single and shared rooms are available.

  • No, flight costs are the responsibility of each attendee. We recommend purchasing travelers or flight insurance when booking flights.
    When planning your trip we recommend flying into Athens International Airport (ATH) and then into Chania International Airport (CHQ). There are also direct flights from the US to CHQ. All airport transfers will be picked up and dropped off from CHQ.

  • Unfortunately stays cannot be extended at the Villa. However there are multiple surrounding hotels in the area if you would like to extend your trip.

  • There is no discounting for attendees arriving late or leaving the retreat early as the expenses for the retreat remain the same.

  • The currency in Greece is the Euro.

    You can find the exchange rate for your currency using this Currency Converter. Credit cards are widely accepted in all our destinations and hotels (Amex a bit less than others), however cash will be accepted everywhere and recommended. Cash Points / ATMs are also very easy to find. We recommend that you withdraw some cash before arriving for everyday purchases. Local US banks, Triple A, and airports offer currency exchange.

  • How much is the deposit and when is the balance due?

    A $700 deposit is requested to hold your place, with the remaining balance of $1,700 is due June 17th, 2023 roughly 90 days prior to the start of the yoga retreat.

  • If you cancel your travel arrangements at any time, written notification from the person who made the booking must be received by us through email at christinahyrkas@gmail.com. Since costs are incurred in canceling your travel arrangements, the following cancellation charges will be payable by you: if you cancel the yoga retreat before June 17th, 2023, all payments will be refunded, minus the 30% deposit. If you cancel the yoga retreat after June 17th, 2023 100% of the payments will be forfeited.
